Catholic Central High School is pleased to announce the hiring of Brea DeJong as the new Head Coach of the Girls Lacrosse program. Coach DeJong brings collegiate varsity-level coaching experience along with a strong background as a university lacrosse athlete. She previously served as an Assistant Varsity Lacrosse Coach at Aquinas College, where she supported player development, practice planning, and game-day operations while helping foster a disciplined and positive team culture. A former scholarship athlete at Marian University, Coach DeJong also earned MVP and All-Conference honors as a varsity player and team captain at Grandville High School. Her experiences as both a player and coach have shaped her commitment to preparation, accountability, and leadership. In addition to her athletic background, Coach DeJong brings professional experience that emphasizes communication, teamwork, and composure in high-pressure environments. She is passionate about mentoring young women and developing student-athletes who represent their school and community with integrity. “Coach DeJong brings energy, leadership, and a clear vision for building a strong girls lacrosse program,” said Mike Jacob, Athletic Director at Catholic Central. “She understands the importance of developing the whole student-athlete and aligns well with our mission of faith, excellence, and community. We are excited to welcome her to Catholic Central and look forward to the impact she will have on our student-athletes and program.” Catholic Central looks forward to the continued success of the Girls Lacrosse program under Coach DeJong’s leadership and welcomes her to the Cougar community.
