Catholic Central High School is pleased to announce the hiring of Bill Lee as the new Head Coach of Boys Lacrosse. Coach Lee brings more than 25 years of head coaching experience at the high school level, with a track record of building strong programs, developing student-athletes, and leading teams to sustained competitive success. His career includes leadership roles at Lowell High School (MI), Loomis Chaffee School (CT), Brewster Academy (NH), and Kingswood High School (NH), where he has coached hundreds of games and mentored athletes who have gone on to compete at the collegiate and professional levels. At Brewster Academy, Coach Lee produced 154 wins, secured multiple Northern New England Championships, coached 8 All-Americans, and was later inducted into the Brewster Academy Athletic Hall of Fame (2019). Brewster’s Athletic Director, Matt Lawlor, described Lee’s impact as remarkable, noting that he was a pioneer in Abenaki lacrosse, built a dominant program, and left a lasting imprint on the school community. During his time at Loomis Chaffee, Lee was named New England West 1 League Coach of the Year and USA Today New England Coach of the Year in 2015. His teams earned repeated league sportsmanship honors, and he played a central role in recruiting and developing student-athletes from across the country. In addition to lacrosse, Lee has experience as a head football coach, leading Kingswood High School to a state championship in 1996 and earning NHIAA Coach of the Year recognition. Coach Lee highlighted the principles that guide his leadership: respecting the game, respecting teammates and coaches, and giving full effort in every practice and game. These expectations align directly with Catholic Central’s mission and the standards we set for our programs both on and off the field. “I am extremely honored to be named the new Head Boys Lacrosse Coach at Grand Rapids Catholic Central High School,” said Lee. “I’d like to thank Athletic Director Mike Jacob and the GRCC administration for this fantastic opportunity. I look forward to meeting all the players and parents, creating those strong relationships needed to build a successful team and program. I love the game of lacrosse and can’t wait to bring my knowledge and experience to guide the program in the future.” Most recently, Coach Lee has served as Senior-National Director for True Lacrosse and as an assistant coach at Lowell High School, working with athletes across Michigan and nationally. He brings deep experience in player development, collegiate recruiting guidance, family communication, and program leadership. Catholic Central is excited to welcome Coach Lee to our community. His values, his experience, and his commitment to the growth of student-athletes will serve our boys lacrosse program exceptionally well. Please join us in welcoming Coach Bill Lee to Catholic Central.
